Solar panel installation doesn’t happen overnight – there’s a process for what needs to happen to get your panels ready to begin powering your equipment. We’ve outlined a three-step solar panel installation guide below:



1. Site Visit

Calculating your electricity needs through a load analysis is the first step in investigating renewable energy systems for your home or business. A site visit will help determine the following:

* The condition and suitability of your roof for mounting solar panels

* The size and cost of the system you will need

* Measures that can be taken to reduce your electricity use.


2. Ordering equipment

Here, your electricity load would have been analyzed and the installer will be ready to place an equipment order through their primary distributor based on the recommended solution for your power needs. Once the equipment order has been made, the installation process can commence.


3. Solar Installation

The solar installation will start by prepping your roof followed by electrical wiring that will connect to your electrical panel and general power system.

After the electrical wiring is complete, the racking will be installed to support your panels. Once the racking is balanced and safely affixed, the solar panels are placed onto the racking. Lastly, your inverter(s) are connected to the panels to convert direct current energy into the alternating current energy on the electric grid.
